TATTOO After Care
The life of your tattoo depends on the care it receives in the first few days…
Days 1-5: Keep bandage on for 2 - 4 hours, if late in the day you may keep it on overnight. Wash tattoo as soon as you remove the bandage. You should use unscented cleanser or soap. After you have cleaned your tattoo, apply a light coat of Bacitracin.
You may notice Plasma forming on your tattoo. Plasma is what causes scab’s to form. In order to avoid scabs you should take a clean, damp sheet of paper towel and gently wipe the plasma off. Wash and reapply the ointment. Repeat above process 2-3 times a day.
Days 5-10: Clean tattoo once a day. Apply unscented lotion liberally through out the day. We recommend Curel.
Days 10-30: Apply lotion as needed. Do not peel, scratch or rub. If it feels itchy, it means it’s healing, reapply lotion to sooth tattoo. Remember, tattoos take approximately 2-4 weeks to heal properly. Be kind to your tattoo and it will be kind to you!!!
During the week 4 week healing process:
Do not use oily products such as Vaseline or Neosporin on your new tattoo.
Do not swim, sauna or soak. Shower is O.K.
Do Not expose to direct sunlight.
Absolutely no picking!!! Pick your nose instead!
